Shanghai Safari Park is the first national wildlife park in China built by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the State Forestry Administration of China, located at 178 Nanliu Road, Nanhui District, Pudong, Shanghai, covering an area of 153 hectares (2,300 mu), about 35 kilometers from the center of Shanghai. With an investment of 300 million RMB, the zoo was officially opened to the public on November 18, 1995 and is one of the first AAA-tourist attractions in China. The park brings together more than 200 species of representative animals and rare animals from all over the world, with tens of thousands of species, including giraffes, zebras, antelopes, white rhinos, etc. from abroad, as well as Chinese first-class protected animals such as giant pandas, golden monkeys and golden antelopes. The park is divided into two major areas for visitors: the vehicle entrance and the walk-in area.

General admission 130 RMB/person

Student tickets for 6-18 years old 65 RMB/person

Senior ticket for 60-64 years old is 117 RMB/person

65 years old and above 65 years old senior ticket 65 yuan/person

Individual annual card RMB 368/person

Family annual card 688 RMB/per person (2 adults with 1 child under 1.5m)

Exemption Regulations

One adult can bring one child under 6 years old or under 1.3 meters into the park for free with the admission ticket of the day.

March-June: 8:00-17:00 (ticket sales stop at 16:00)

December – February: 8:30-16:30 (ticket sales stop at 15:30)

Tips

The Safari Zone is located on the northeast side of the grounds. Visitors board a special bus from the bus stop to visit the tiger zone, lion zone, etc. (The fee is included in the admission fee.) Visitors can also board a wire mesh safari bus for an additional Fee. For a separate fee, visitors can also board a wire mesh safari bus. Although thrilling, it may not be suitable for scared people or children, as there is an option to feed live chickens.
