About Oriental Pearl Towe

The Oriental Pearl Tower is second only to Canada’s Toronto TV Tower and Russia’s Moscow TV Tower. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower has chosen the circular curved body, a favorite of the Eastern people, as the basic building line. The main body consists of three inclined cylinders, three straight cylinders and 11 spheres, forming a huge space frame structure. There are six elevators in the cylinder, one of which is a double-decker elevator that can carry 50 people, and one that runs between the upper sphere and the space capsule.

The tower can be explored in the following places: the lower sphere, the middle sphere and the ring corridor, the upper sphere and the space capsule. The top of the lower sphere is 118 meters high, with a sightseeing gallery and a dream space city, etc.

The top of the upper sphere is 295 meters high, with a rotating tea room, a restaurant and a sightseeing platform that can accommodate 1600 people. There are 5 small balls between the upper and lower spheres, which are 5 sets of high-altitude luxury hotels; the space warehouse is for foreign guests to sightsee. The lights can be automatically adjusted under computer manipulation according to weather changes, producing more than 1,000 changes. The lighting effect of the TV tower is also breathtaking.

The elevator of the Oriental Pearl Tower takes only forty seconds to reach the 263-meter-high sightseeing sphere, where the view of Shanghai is as far as the eye can see, and the original skyscrapers now look much shorter, and the winding Huangpu River, with huge ships like shuttles, stretches into the sea. The two bridges on either side, like two huge dragons, soaring over the Huangpu River, together with the Oriental Pearl in the middle, cleverly combined to form a huge picture of two dragons playing the pearl.

At night, the huge sphere is decorated with colorful lights, glittering, and the stars are competing for glory, making it even more crystal clear. With the lighted buildings on the Bund in Puxi – reflecting the charming night of the modern metropolis.

The tower is integrated with the Pudong Park, which has expanded to 155,000 square meters, and there are 15 spheres of different sizes in the park to support the two huge spheres of the TV tower, so it is called the “Oriental Pearl”. Nearby there are entertainment centers, commercial centers, will be a large multi-functional tourist attractions in Pudong.
