About Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway is a gondola ropeway connecting Sun Moon Lake and the Nine Tribes Cultural Village Theme Park.

Built in 2001 by the world-renowned Austrian company Doppelmayr, it is powered by solar and hydroelectric power. The ropeway cars are painted red, yellow, and blue, symbolizing the red sun, yellow moon, and blue lake.

How to get there

Go to Sun Moon Lake Station. First, please go to the information counter on the 2nd floor and pick up your “numbered ticket”. Then proceed to the boarding gate on the 3rd floor and present your “reference number” and the QR code on your order to the staff to board.

Tips

The Sun Moon Lake ropeway is open on the following days and times Ropeway – 10:30am to 4:00pm
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays – Ticketing – 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ropeway – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The ropeway is closed on the first Wednesday of the month for maintenance.

Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Fees
Adults/Students/Children – Round-trip ticket – NTD $250. One-way ticket NT$240.
Elderly/children/disabled – Round-trip ticket – NTD $200. One-way ticket – NTD $190.
