The Tainan Zoo opened in 1994. It was the first wild zoo in Asia and the first zoo to receive the Tourism Medal. The zoo focuses on research, conservation, entertainment, and education. The 20-hectare zoo is home to more than 300 animals from all over the world. There are also performances by trained animals.

The zoo houses the world’s largest collection of amphibious reptiles, with more than 200 amphibious reptiles from around the world. In addition, there are raccoons, pandas, and many other endangered animals. The performances of the trained animals bring visitors closer to the animals and keep them entertained.

How to get there

Traffic
National Highway 1→exit at Xinying Interchange→City Road 172→County Road 19→Township Road South 6

Public Transportation
Take TRA to Sinying Train Station, transfer to Tainan City Bus BR1 and get off at Wanhui World Bus Stop.
