About Taiwan Green Island Hot Spring
This Hot Spring is located in the southeast of Green Island, about 500 meters from the National Hostel. Green Island was once called “Fire Island” and is full of mysterious colors and beautiful scenery. Among the rocky reefs, milky white hot springs gush out from the intertidal zone of Green Island and are known as undersea hot springs.
The hot springs at the bottom of the Green Island morning sun are heated by geothermal heat, and the seawater penetrates through the crevices of the rocks under the island to the depth of the strata, resulting in increased pressure. The ground temperature is about 55°C, the PH value is 5, and the spring belongs to a sulfur salt spring, which has no strong odor and can be bathed in.
How to get there
By car
1. National Highway No. 5: From National Highway No. 1 (Zhongshan Expressway), take the Xizhi System Interchange to National Highway No. 5 (Beiyi Expressway), cross over the Xueshan Tunnel, take the Su-ao Interchange toward Taiwan No. 9, turn onto Taiwan No. 11 to arrive in Taitung City, then transfer to Fuoka Highway, at Fuoka Fishing Port, take Xinland Island, Changan Car, Shan Transfer to No. 91 hovercraft to Green Island, and upon arrival at Green Island, transfer to intra-island transportation to reach Asahi Hot Spring.
2. National Highway No. 5: Exit National Highway No. 3 (Er Highway) at the Nangang System Interchange, transfer to National Highway No. 5 (Beiyi Expressway), cross over the Xueshan Tunnel, proceed toward Taiwan Highway No. 9 from the Su-Ao Interchange, and transfer to National Highway No. 11 to arrive in Taitung City. Transfer at Fu Jiang Street and transfer at Fu Jiang Fishing Port to Xin Lan Dao, Chang An Wan, and Shan No. 91 hovercraft to Green Island.
Public Transportation
Airplane: Fly from Taitung Airport to Green Island and transfer to the island transportation to Asahi Hot Spring.
On-island transportation: To get to Green Island, take a bus (from Nanliao), a cab (near the airport or harbor), or rent a locomotive with the cooperation of various hotels and lodging companies.
