【Hong Kong】How to get to Victoria Peak easily by bus

Hong Kong

Easy bus ride to Victoria Peak

To get to Victoria Peak by bus, take a local bus from the bus terminal in front of the Star Ferry terminal in Central.

Bus #15. This bus stop is vulnerable to sun and rain because it has no roof. There are quite a few foreigners lined up.

It is considerably cheaper than taking the Peak Tram. This bus stop. You can also take the bus from the bus terminal under the Exchange Square, but you may not be able to sit on the bus because it is not the first bus.

Fare

The Fare is 9.8 HK$.

Of course, Octopus Card can be used.

(The Peak Tram also accepts Octobus cards.) The tramway passes behind City Hall, MTR Golden Bell, Wan Chai, and so on.

Yes, we arrived. It took more than 40 minutes because of traffic.

The new Peak Tower, which reopened in October 2006, the Peak Galleria, and a walk around the area are also nice.

This is what the inside of Peak Galleria looks like.

Bubba Gump Shrimp, and many other restaurants and souvenir shops.

and many souvenir stores. It looks like this.

There is a line for the Peak Tram.

The Peak Tram is very crowded.

It is horribly crowded.

There are no buses.

From the bay window on the way to the observatory because it is high.

That’s all there is to it.

The Peak Tram is a good way to get to Victoria Peak, but I also recommend taking the bus, which has less waiting time and is less expensive.

The ice cream was good.

Walking the Peak

If you are not in a hurry, a walk on the boardwalk that circles the summit at the height of the Peak Tower is also an option. You can enjoy the cityscape on both sides of Victoria Harbor and the green hills of the New Territories. The 3.5-km loop walk connecting Lugard Road and Harlech Road is an easy walk that takes about an hour to complete.

It would be tempting to go to the summit to enjoy the panoramic view, but the area is occupied by a wireless communication facility and is off limits to the public. However, you can visit Victoria Peak Gardens, the closest place to the summit that is open to the public; in the 19th century, there was a summer residence built for the sixth Governor-General of Hong Kong. Today, only the Gate Lodge remains. From Victoria Gap, visitors can walk along Mount Austin Road to the park.

There is another famous lookout for harbor views, the Lions Pavilion. It is just a few minutes walk down Findlay Road from the Peak Tower.
