About Zhu Ming Museum of Art

Zhu Ming, whose real name is Zhu Chuan Tai, was born in Tongxiao Township, Miaoli County, and is a well-known sculptor in Taiwan. In the past, Chu Ming was famous for his rural-themed sculptures such as “Cows” and “Shepherd’s Children. Under the guidance of his father, he went to A-Ma Temple in Tongxiao Township to study under master sculptor Li Jinchuan. From the 1960s, he volunteered to study under master sculptor Yang Yingfeng for sculptures such as “Ji-mo” (Mother of Mercy) and “Girl Playing in the Sand” and gradually became famous worldwide for his modern sculptures incorporating Chinese ideas such as “Tai Chi. From the 1980s to the present, his main theme has been the “Human Series,” depicting all kinds of people, and in 1999 he was awarded the “14th Tokyo Innovation Award – Overseas Prize” by the Tokyo Fashion Association.

How to get there

By car
1、National Highway 3: From the Wanli exit of the Fund Interchange, proceed in the direction of Jinshan and Wanli, and follow the signs for the museum to the Zhu Ming Art Museum.
2、Take Yangjin Highway or Tamjin Highway into Jinshan City, and follow Provincial Highway 2 for 39.7 km and follow the signs for the museum to Zhu Ming Art Museum.
3、Exit at the Bago Interchange on National Highway No. 1 and head in the direction of Jinshan and Wanli, and follow the signs to the Zhu Ming Art Museum.

Public Transportation
Take the Guoguang Bus, Royal Bus, Keelung Bus, or Tamsui Bus to Jinshan, and transfer to the free shuttle bus bound for Ju Ming Art Museum in front of the Jinshan Art and Senior Activity Center Building next to the Jinshan District Office.
