About TAIPINGSHAN and riding the BONG-BONG TRAIN

Taipingshan offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in the wild and rugged natural beauty of Taiwan. Located in the Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area, Taipingshan will enchant you with its cobalt blue lake and forest-covered peaks. At about 2,000 meters above sea level, it is cool and the mountain is often shrouded in fog and clouds.

The hiking trail through the forest of towering hundreds-year-old Taiwan cypress trees is one of the best hiking trails in Taiwan. After a long hike, soak in the mineral-rich Jiouken Stream hot springs to relax your muscles.

It is a great way for families to explore the Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area. The self-guided forest trail, which departs from the train station, winds through lush green fern forests.
